Only Marxists, " Dr. Iggy concluded, opening the door to usher Joe into the chapel room, "stillbelieve in an objective history. Marxists and a few disciples of Ayn Rand.

About This Quote

Dr. Iggy, as usual, was correct. Only Marxists and Ayn Rand's followers believe in an objective history. Most of the rest of us believe that history is written by the victors and those who win will be remembered forever as those who defeated those who lost. It's a nice little story that we tell ourselves and we like to think that we're the ones who write it and that we're the ones who can write it better than anyone else.
